I got the Christmas Card done! WOHOO! I'm printing extras so if you want one from Adventure Boy (and basically all of us) and we don't have your address (Libby, we have yours!) you can send Adventure Boy an e-mail and we'll send you one! Adventure Boy can be reached at bolo (at) magma (dot) ca .
So, we had a YUCKY storm yesterday - 22 centimeters of snow and HUGE gusts of wind. Not as bad as Halifax though. They should be getting gusts of 100km per hour. Bundle up Brother dear! You too SIL!
So if you read Adventure Boy's blog today, you know that our local radio station was doing a Food Bank Drive. Since it was on DH's way to work, we stopped by and made a cash donation. It was my favorite DJ, he has a wonderful English accent - that's UNDERSTANDABLE! (I had problems understanding accents soemtimes, ok, most of the time). I'll be braving the mall today for two reason - 1) exercise! I have been a LUMP and that's not good, my feet are swelling again. Not good. 2) I need to pick up the Christmas cards - or I may never get Nose Kisses AGAIN! GASP!
OK, I need to shower and get breakfast if I want to go out into the community. Well, more the shower part if I want to go out in public.

Edited To Add
Just wanted to say - My Mum was right.
What was she right about?
She said I would start taking longer int he shower, just because it was totally ME time. This morning a) I got a shower and b) I took an extra few minutes to bask in my solitude. Tomorrow - if I get a shower, I might make it a whole 5 minutes of solitude. Oooo, looking forward to that.
Merci Mummy!

2am - Tuesday
Again, not quite 2am, don't quibble.
So Darkling is slowly learning to sleep in his crib, and doing a MARVELOUS job of it. Now we have another issue. Mr. Squirmy Pants manages to squirm himself all the way across his crib and wakes himself up when he hits his head on the far end. Yeah, talented little man isn't he? Should we be duct taping him into place? Ideas? Suggestions? Help?
Excuse me, I'm being summoned.

Stuff on Sunday
It's been a busy weekend, lots of sleeping. Ahhhhh.
Both boys (Darkling and Adventure Boy) have had their pictures taken with Santa. Santa Clause for Darkling, Santa Paws for Adventure Boy. Of the two of them, Adventure Boy's is seriously lacking in professionalism - no backdrop, not a good chair, and done with a point and shoot camera. I need to get myself in gear to take that over for next year. I know I can do a much better job. Although, this years is better than last years.
Not much else new, sorry gang. Counting the days until my parents move in, I'm looking forward to having them close. I should put up some Christmas decorations - I guess. At least the tree, Darkling should have a tree for his first Christmas. Then I can take pictures of the Boys in front of the tree. Should be fun. One won't sit still, and one can't sit up. Great combo.

2am Saturday
OK, it's not quite 2am, but don't quibble.
Sorry I didn't write yesterday, I was out all day and then had company last night.
Had a chance to see my parent's new house. Two weeks until they move in. It looks beautiful! The kitchen cabinets weren't in yet but I could see my Mum, Darkling and I making cookies in that kitchen while my Dad hovers in the background - taking pictures and waiting for the cookies to be finished (must be where I get my cookie monster gene). Every boy should know how to make his favorite cookies, that's my opinion.
Then it was off to pick up Darkling's picture with Santa. We had it done Wednesday night. DH went to pick it up on Thursday - Oh, no we didn't process that picture because they gave you the wrong end of the ticket (And how is that our problem I asked?). So Darkling and I went back Friday. To the mall. Around lunch time. In December. Remind me to NEVER do that again. Oh, especially not with a stop at Toys R Us (but all the neices and nephews will have gifts under the tree from us.)
After a quick lunch with my parents - where Darkling started laughing to my facial expressions while he was being held by his Grandad - Darkling had his 2 month doctor's appointment. Drumroll please, Darkling weighs in at 12lbs 1oz. WOW. The doctor says that puts him in the 50th percentile (he's been in the 90th percentile since birth - should I worry?). Darkling also had his first series of vaccinations - DPT, MMR and something else - done in 2 needles. One in each thigh. It was hard for me as a parent to watch him get hurt. His little face went red red red as he screeched. I know I'll have a few more moments like that where I just don't want to be the parent but it needs to be done. Those are the days I'll be making my way to MY parents' house probably - just so I can be the daughter again.
We had a nice supper and then it was off to bed for me. Our plans for the weekend are to nap and do laundry - and if it's nice out, we will go on a family walk. Gotta get those in while the weather is good.

Thursday
Would you believe I was practicing being wordless yesterday for Wordless Wednesday? I didn't think you would. I got caught up in Parenthood again, sorry. It's happening more and more frequently that I sit down to write and then get summoned by the human son or the fuzzy one. OK, usually the human son. The fuzzy one comes to get me, give it time, the human one will become more mobile - he's certainly got the wiggle quotient down now.
Anyway, I don't remember if I mentioned this before but our movie theater has a program where parents with young children can go and watch a movie - there is dimmed lighting, two long tables set up as changing stations, they even provide diapers, wipes and hand sanitizer (I've found everyone provides hand sanitizer nowadays). Anyway, two weeks ago I went to see Pirate Radio (aka The Boat That Rocked) - good movie, GREAT music. Yesterday it was The Blind Side. I've been looking forward to that movie since I saw the previews. For some reason I like feel good sport movies, especially football. I don't watch the sport at all and barely understand it - no, I don't understand it at all, but I really like sport movies. Go figure. Anyway, I really enjoyed The Blind Side.
Unfortunately, the baby movie program goes on hiatus for a month around Christmas, that's just poopy. There are a bunch of movies I want to go see comeing up - that's probably why, because everyone else wants to see them too. Sigh. I might try and bring Darkling to a few of them, depending on the time, or maybe I can wait until someone is around to Darkling sit, I know DH wants to hit a few of these movies with me. Here's my list:
Ninja Assasin - it looks interesting, but might be worth waiting for when it comes out on the cheap, ie video, we'll see if it makes it to the Baby Movie program before it goes out of theaters. Oh, just noticed, this one is playing already.
Invictus - I LOVE Morgan Freeman in everything I've ever seen him in. Again, it's a feel good movie involving a sport - and I know NOTHING about rugby.
Avatar - I am SO pumped about this movie. This is eye candy extraordinare.
The Young Victoria - I'm curious about this one. Maybe on video, we'll see if it makes it to the Baby program.
Sherlock Holmes - I'll be dragging my father kicking and screaming to this one, Ok Dad? Our family are fans of Sherlock Holmes. We used to watch the version with Jeremy Brett religiously. Jeremy Brett is the ultimate Sherlock Holmes for me though. Looking forward to seeing how Robert Downey Jr does in the role.
Hoodwinked Too: Hood VS Evil - What can I say, I like Faerie Tales.
All these films open in the next month. I'm going to be busy aren't I?
